The Story

There is something magical about the first warmth of spring ... when golden daffodils begin to appear and the world seems to wake up after winter.

Daffodil Sunrise was born from that feeling of warmth, hope and new beginnings.

I created my first flax daffodil in 2021, and these beautiful little flowers have remained a very special part of my Artiflax journey. Turning the delicate form of a daffodil into everlasting flax was a challenge I loved, and seeing them come to life has been incredibly rewarding.

The daffodil also carries a very special meaning here in New Zealand. Through the Cancer Society's Daffodil Day, this little yellow flower has become a symbol of hope and a way for communities across Aotearoa to come together in support of people affected by cancer.
